Wiper Blades FAQ
What Kinds are There?
For most Mitsubishi cars and SUVs, either conventional, beam, and hybrid. Each has one of three types of connectors as well -- either hooks, clamps, or pins.
What are Conventional Wiper Blades?
They're the commonest kind on the road, and what most Mitsubishi vehicles have. They're made of either rubber or silicone, they incorporate metal frames, and they provide fair durability in the widest variety of weather. You replace them about every six months.
What are Beam Wiper Blades?
They're those made of solid rubber, versus a rubber and metal combo. They generally last longer than conventional blades, and they conform much more closely to the contours of a windshield.
What are Hybrid Wiper Blades?
They're a lot like beam blades, but for their metal frames being rubber-coated also. This makes them both more versatile and better able to resist bad weather's effects.
What's the Differences Between Connectors?
Hook connectors are U-shaped, and they wrap around the rounded ends of the wiper arms, rotating around them likewise. Clamp connectors, on the other hand, are openings that the wiper arms get inserted into; they fasten on the sides to keep the blades in place. Finally, pin connectors are horizontal holes that the pins on wiper arms go through so that the blades can get held in place.
When Should I Replace a Wiper Blade?
Look for the signs that'll tell you it's time. They include:
- The rubber starting to crack
- The blade starting to leave streaks while it runs
- The blade squeaking or chattering as it moves
- The frame breaking
- The blade starting to detach (usually because its adhesive has failed)
At that point, you'll need to put new ones on.
How Do I Install New Ones?
It's important to note first that not all wiper blades are the same. The answer here depends on what the instructions from your brand say to do. Be sure to follow them closely for specifics. Otherwise, the process for changing them is pretty straightforward.
So, what kind does your Mitsubishi model need, then? The genuine article is your best choice.
Why Buy Genuine OEM Wiper Blades vs. Aftermarket?
They come compatible with your car or SUV model specifically. Mitsubishi designs and builds them that way. That kind of fitment guarantee, the aftermarket for wiper blades may not always give you.
Where Can I Order Genuine Mitsubishi Wiper Blades Online?
You'll find them in our catalog, along with many other popular Mitsubishi parts. We keep them cost-effective, too. For example, the average price of wiper blades can range from around $10 or $15 to about $50, sometimes more than that. That's excluding any applicable fees and taxes, and it doesn't factor in the labor costs involved with choosing installation by a service professional (which can run around $50 total to start, including parts). Our offerings, however, are often priced well below MSRP.
